Gene`s BMX News( Commentary Quote ) -- 12/27/2007
The go211 web site has some nice BMX content but now I get
to say, go211 HAD some nice bmx content as it now Sucks!
Well that just flat out sucks big time! Here I thought go211 would
be of something cool as they have and where open source with the
ABA BMX events. The two ABA BMX events live web cast feeds
where nice and well broadcast on the world wide web and open to all
to view no hoops to jump and no this and that to join. People just
surfed in and enjoyed. -- The two ABA BMX events where:
Go211 in conjunction with the American Bicycle Association, webcast
of the ABA`s Disney Cup, a Pro Series event hosted by Disney`s Wide
World of Sports. Coverage of October 26th - 28th, 2007.

Go211 in conjunction with the National Bicycle League, webcast
of the NBL Christmas Classic. A UCI Olympic Qualifier BMX Event.

Seems they have lock down the go211 web site feed to this NBL BMX
Christmas Classic event to where only members get to view the web cast.
Join now it is free as they say, I think we have all seen this before
in the past with other pay BMX web sites, saying it is free and ends up
a catch 22 just for the money and to get mass number of members listed.
People have to give them a email address so they can spam inboxs on
down the road. It may be free to join go211 but it now sucks becouse
just not anyone can and will surf in to see what BMX Racing is as they
have to jump hoops on the web to view it. Not to say alot of places in
the world filter out membership web sites so youth can not surf in to them.
Some places like public schools and public librarys, youth community centers
boys and girls clubs and alot of just parents keeping track of there kids.
So we ask, Why now for go211 web site to have closed to a members only
source web feed for the NBL BMX event? Why does go211.com want every
ones email address to view the content if it is free anyway? Is go211 going to be
a pay web site soon? What is the reason for all of this?
It seems go211 web site is not thinking of all the youth that the
sport of BMX targets to since they have blocked out alot of them
from watching the NBL BMX Christmas Classic live web cast feed.
As many of you know, Gene`s BMX does NOT and WILL not support
Closed and or Pay BMX content sources on the would wide web as it
does NOT help BMX in anyway. In all, it does more harm for BMX on
the web as it scares people away from the sport.
This December 24th - 27th 2007 on Gene`s BMX the links to go211
web site and the link to the go211 NBL BMX Live web feed, seen
over 4000 clicks from people that where looking via Gene`s BMX site.
Gene`s BMX will be Un-Listing go211 from the web site as
Gene`s BMX will not support closed BMX web site sources.
Go211 may be free and they may offer some nice BMX internet coverage
of BMX events but it just is not right to start as an open source BMX web
site and then lock it down to closed members, free or not.
As seen in the past with a few other BMX web sites that did offer
free web casts of BMX racing events by locking down the live web
feed content to join it, it is just one step closer to a pay BMX web
site. Same with this go211 NBL BMX web cast feed, it is looking
like it is one step closer to a pay web site.
The Go211.com logo says, Taking Action Sports To The Next Level:
It is nice of go211 to support BMX on the web but with this move as they
have now went to a closed source BMX content web site, it is a big loss
for the BMX community on the world wide web. There move to a closed
source BMX content web site cast, was not to well thought out by them in
supporting the BMX world wide web community in all for all and with all.
What is it with people, They start something nice
but then they mess it up becouse they get greedy.
This is just a sad move that go211 has done, sad!

It has been found if you want to view the NBL BMX Christmas
Classic live web cast feed on the go211 web site, is to use and make
a free junk email account and a junk user-name to keep yourself and
your email inbox from getting spam on down the road from go211 site.
Key Notes:
Points:- Jumping hoops on the web to view, Risking possible spamming,
Closed BMX source content web site. A web site that targets to a youth
sport of BMX and they block it out for alot of them youth on the public
world wide web workings, via free or not.

Why support a BMX web site that does not support the sport of
BMX for all to view on the world wide web. If everyone around
the world can not view this live web casts on the world wide web
and as seen by the last event this web site hosted a live web cast
a lot of people did not get to view it. - Gene`s BMX does not want
to be a part of them by supporting there closed web site contents.
I know I would think twice before I put my email address in to
there so called free live web cast, you just might end up a spam
victim on down the road. If this is not the reason they want your
email, then Gene`s BMX asks you why would a free live web cast
be asking for peoples email address and have the site locked down
for members only to view the contents of the live web cast in the
first place if it is free as they say it is. I would be thinking twice
before I joined to view it. If anything, It is a big red flag heads up.
Go211 web site SUCKS!
Go211 is a Big Disappointment for everyone in the BMX Community.

You would think that Go211 would want to be promoting BMX than is to
be demoting BMX by locking people out with Closed Source contents on
its web site and scaring people away from BMX racing. - Go211 SUCKS!
