* Athletes Of The Week:- Teyah Elofson-Cross, BMX, And Finn Thompson, Swimming.
Port Angeles, Washington USA ( Peninsula Daily News ) -- 03/03/2025
Port Angeles sixth-grader Teyah Elofson-Cross is the latest BMX star to come from the Lincoln Park
BMX track. In Houston this past weekend, she competed in the Lone Star National, a UCI world qualifier
event. In the world qualifier Friday, she finished first in the 13 girl challenge class and second in the 13-16
girl cruiser class to secure a spot for both bikes to the UCI BMX Worlds in Copenhagen in July, along with
four other riders from the Lincoln Park BMX.

* Area Sports Briefs:- Lincoln Park BMX Recognized By USABMX.
Port Angeles, Washington USA ( Peninsula Daily News ) -- 02/26/2025
This past weekend, members of the Lincoln Park BMX traveled to Tulsa, Okla., for the track
operator summit and Lincoln Park received an award for being the No. 8 track out of 115 tracks
on the West Coast.

* REI Agrees To Sale Leaseback With Madison Capital For $230 Million.
Seattle, Washington USA ( BRAIN ) -- 02/25/2025
REI Co-op accepted a long-term sale-leaseback agreement with Madison Capital for its four
distribution center properties. REI said it will maintain and operate the centers without impacting
any of its employees. A New York based real estate investment firm, Madison Capital paid $230
million for the buildings and land associated with the distribution centers located in Sumner, Wash;
Bedford, Pennsylvania; Goodyear, Arizona; and Lebanon, Tennessee. REI said it will continue to
own all equipment and machinery inside each facility.

* City Of Rio Reopens Olympic BMX Cycling Track To The Public And Professional Athletes.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil ( Olympics .com News + IOC ) -- 01/29/2025
The BMX cycling track that hosted competitions at the Olympic Games Rio 2016 has been opened
to the public after a full renovation. Upholding its legacy commitments, despite governance issues
during the years after the Games, the city continues to benefit from the positive effects of Rio 2016.

	* Bike Index Annual Report Shows Bike Thefts Increased In 2024. Chicago, Illinois USA ( BRAIN ) -- 01/29/2025 Bike Index released its annual 2025 report showing a 15% increase in reported thefts of the 1.3 million bikes it registered, and more than two million are stolen annually in the U.S. with a value of more than a billion dollars.

* BMX: Lincoln Park Riders Shine In Florida.
Port Angeles, Washington USA ( Peninsula Daily News ) -- 01/22/2025
This past weekend, three Lincoln Park BMX riders shined in the Okeeheelee BMX
in West Palm Beach, Fla., to race in the UCI Qualifier and Sunshine State National.
Their qualification means that they will be able to ride and present Team USA in
Copenhagen, Denmark, in July later this year.

* REI Announces A Change At The Top.
Seattle, Washington USA ( BRAIN ) -- 01/22/2025
REI Co-op CEO and President Eric Artz announced Wednesday morning that he will retire at
the end of March and will be succeeded by former co-op board director Mary Beth Laughton.

* REI Cutting Experiences Division Resulting In The Loss Of 428 Jobs.
Seattle, Washington USA ( BRAIN ) -- 01/08/2025
REI Co-op announced it will close its Experiences division that includes adventure travel, day
tours, and classes. The decision was announced in an email to employees Wednesday from the
President and CEO Eric Artz and will mean the elimination of 428 full- and part-time jobs in that
division. Customers who booked trips and day programs will receive full refunds and REI will
work to address any associated non-refundable expenses.
